It can be hard to keep the weight off, especially as we’ve mostly all been locked in our houses for the last year and a half. PhenQ is a leading weight loss supplement designed to make maintaining a caloric deficit easier, whilst ramping up your metabolic rate so that you burn through calories – and eventually fat – a little faster. It is the icing on the top when everything else is in order, there to give you a friendly boost and make everything a touch more efficient.
It comes at the issue of weight loss from a couple of different angles, which is central to its success.
As above, PhenQ will boost your metabolism. This is fantastic. However, there is no point boosting your metabolism if you then go ahead and simply eat more, or if you’re always feeling hungry, or if you’re lacking in energy.
These are all common issues for anyone attempting to lose weight. In fact, they are just a few – if you’re trying to lose weight at the moment, you’ve probably experienced all of them and more. For every problem, there is a solution – companies will have put out a dozen different products to add to your cocktail of supplements. This amount of choice can be overwhelming, and, realistically, having half a dozen different pills to swallow each day is inconvenient, disheartening, and expensive!
This is why supplements such as PhenQ, which attack weight loss from several angles at once, can be so beneficial.
The two main angles are an increase in the amount of stored fat used by the body, and a reduction in appetite and food cravings, as mentioned above. These two processes go hand in hand, with users generally finding that they are unable to create new fat whilst taking PhenQ. Though they can be found if you want to go stimulant free, most weight loss formulas will include some form of caffeine. Many of us consume it on a regular basis (I suspect I would be physically unable to write this article without my customary black coffee sitting on my desk!).
We typically use it as a stimulant, of course. It perks us up, gives us energy, and diminishes the effects of fatigue. This is useful in its own right during a caloric deficit, when energy levels might be lagging a bit.
This energy boost can be particularly useful when you’re taking part in an active lifestyle.
Caffeine can also lead to a reduced appetite acting as an appetite suppressant, however, helping you to maintain your correct caloric intake without struggling so much.
Capsimax powder isn’t a single ingredient, but rather is a blend of several different, effective components. These include fat loss stalwarts like capsicum, caffeine, and vitamin B3.
Included as a key element of PhenQ’s formula, capsimax powder helps to increase its thermogenesis properties. It brings up the body’s natural body temperature to what you might expect of a light to moderate cardiovascular, aerobic workout.
Most of us get chromium picolinate from whole grains, meat, and vegetables. It is an essential nutrient to include in your diet and works to reduce cravings for sugar and other carbohydrates. It does this by helping to moderate blood sugar levels, leading to fewer spikes and crashes.
When you eat sugar and other simple carbs, your body uses what it needs to as energy. What it doesn’t need, it converts into body fat. However, taking in adequate levels of chromium enable your cells to use as much of the sugar as possible to prevent future cravings.
It will, in short, stop you from craving the kind of sugary food that can easily destroy a caloric deficit.
L-carnitine is generally one of my favourite supplements. L-carnitine fumarate is a natural amino acid, typically found in red meat, nuts, and green vegetables. It plays a central role in converting nutrients into usable energy, sustainable and even throughout the day. It is often used to combat fatigue and lethargy for this reason.
This is perfect for a weight loss formula. As I’ve mentioned, lethargy and fatigue can be common during a restricted diet, especially where carbohydrate intake is minimised.
Finally, we have the botanical nopal. It’s actually derived from cactus and delivers an incredible amount of dietary fibre, a form of indigestible carbohydrate.
This is important for two reasons.
Firstly, fibre is crucial for digestive health. It helps to bulk out the body’s stools. Without adequate levels, constipation can occur. Poor digestive health has been linked to an increased risk from myriad diseases, including bowel cancer.
Restricted diets can often be low in fibre, as dieters seek to minimise the amount of carbohydrates they take in.
Secondly, as fibre is indigestible, and as it tends to soak up a lot of water, it aids in satiation. It will fill you up, reducing hunger pangs, without contributing to your total caloric intake. In soaking up excess water, it reduces the risk of fluid retention, further aiding weight loss (though not, in this instance, fat loss) and reducing any bloating.
My Thoughts On PhenQ
Though there is no such thing as a wonder pill that can magically help you to lose weight, PhenQ have given us the next best thing with this incredibly smart, well thought out formula. It will help you to feel fuller for longer, will improve digestive health, will keep your energy levels up and your brain clear, will make maintaining a calorie deficit a lot easier, and will increase thermogenesis so that you’re burning through more calories.
When they call it a five-in-one powerful weight loss ingredient formula, they really are onto something. It is refreshing to see a supplement that actually stands up to scrutiny, is scientifically backed, thoughtfully composed, and really, really useful.
Does It Work?
I include this rhetorical question because I think it will underpin a misnomer under which many will suffer.
No, PhenQ will not work in the sense that many will be hoping. As above, it isn’t a magic pill. You cannot take it, sit around all day, eat what you like, and expect to lose weight. That is medically impossible.
However, yes, PhenQ will work really well as a booster to an already optimised diet and lifestyle. If you are active and eating to a caloric deficit, and want to fine tune things to make your weight loss that much more efficient, PhenQ will work wonders. If you’re struggling to maintain a calorie deficit with cravings and/or lethargy hitting you hard, PhenQ will mitigate these issues. It will make everything a little bit easier.
It should also be entirely safe for the vast majority of users. If you’re pregnant or nursing, you should likely steer clear of it (and, unless your weight is severe, you should probably wait before trying to maintain a caloric deficit and lose body fat anyway). If you’re taking any prescription medication or are suffering with any health concerns, consult your doctor before taking PhenQ, simply as a precaution.
There are, however, no known side effects associated with PhenQ. All ingredients are natural, and all doses are appropriately and intelligently crafted. If you follow the instructions and have no allergies to any of the ingredients, you should be absolutely fine taking it. As everything is natural, PhenQ also shouldn’t interfere with any prescription drugs or other supplements.
The Take Home
PhenQ is something of a rarity – a weight loss pill that I approve of! Many are so much snake oil. Some are dangerous. Most of the time, they simply aren’t worth the money – combining hard work with clean eating is the only real way to lose weight.
However, maintaining a caloric deficit isn’t always easy. Hunger pangs will get you. Fatigue, lethargy, and brain fog are always there, waiting to get you. It can be disheartening, especially when your weight loss is slow.
This is where PhenQ really comes into its own – making everything easier to manage and more efficient.
