It can be hard to find a whole-food, complete nutritional supplement that not only provides a wide range of health benefits but also tastes great.

Hard, but not impossible. There are plenty of pretenders out there. Then, there are supplements like Verve V80, which is I want to look at today. It offers a comprehensive blend of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, giving you a health boost like no other, whilst also tasting absolutely delicious.

Verve 80 – Our Verdict

Verve V80 pouch and tub

Verve V80 is fantastic. With its comprehensive blend of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, my energy levels and mental clarity improved whilst I was taking it.

My immune function also improved – I didn’t get any of the colds that were passing around nursery, despite my toddler’s best efforts. Even my skin began to look better.

Plus, its great taste makes it an absolute pleasure to live with. I would highly recommend Verve V80 to anybody.

About Verve V80

Verve V80 in hand

Verve is a comprehensive nutrition brand that aims to help people achieve their best health and wellness. It was founded by Oliver Cookson, who also established the leading sports nutrition brand Myprotein in 2004 (I’ve been using their whey concentrate for years, now).

Now Cookson is disrupting yet another industry by putting out a high-quality, additive-free greens powder that really blows most of its competition out of the water.

Cookson developed his own bespoke mix of ingredients for personal use, recognising that finding the time for self-care can be challenging when balancing work, social, and family life. What he created turned out to be an incredibly practical, cost-effective, and great-tasting supplement to boost the immune system, give plenty of energy, and enhance overall health and wellness – Verve V80.

Verve’s transparent, 80-nutrient-dense formula is of the highest quality, all sourced from ethical suppliers, and is all based in consultation with some of the world’s leading nutritionists. The result is something of a premium, great-tasting product that doesn’t compromise on quality whilst actually coming out quite reasonably priced.

It’s kind of what I would expect from the guy who came up with Myprotein.

And the future looks bright, too. V80 is far from the only project Verve have on the go. They have plans to release more products across multiple categories aimed at helping people live more healthily. Again, this is standard for Cookson, whose team has always been committed to staying at the forefront of the health and wellness supplement game.

Benefits of Verve V80

The benefits of using Verve V80 stem from its premium quality ingredients, high dosage of essential nutrients, and scientific formulation. It essentially gives you the benefits you would expect of any greens powder, including boosting energy, improving agility, reducing fatigue perception, enhancing memory, and supporting digestive health – just dialled up a bit, with high quality and reasonable pricing.

Inside of verve v80

Verve use top-tier nutrients in V80. They have all been extracted from natural ingredients at the source. This means that there are no additives, preservatives or bulking agents to interfere with things. Every scoop of V80 guarantees pure goodness without anything unwanted.

You get an incredibly high dose of essential vitamins and minerals with each serving – generally touching on 100% of your daily intake across the board. These nutrients support thousands of key processes in the body and ensure you have an adequate supply of electrolytes for your nerves and muscles.

The blend of green and fruit complexes in V80 also provides a wide range of natural antioxidants, while V80’s fibre content should help in promoting healthy digestion. Pre- and probiotics contribute to gut health, whilst proteins support strong bones.

A solid bedrock of scientific research and clinical data underpins everything. In fact, it was all developed alongside one of the world’s leading nutritionists and their lab, so you are in good hands.

V80 is simple and convenient to use. Most greens powders are, at least in theory. All you need to do is mix one scoop of V80 with 300ml of cold water every day and swallow, which is par for the course with this kind of thing.

However, it goes down more easily, tastes better, and leads to far less gas and bloat than many other greens powders. It’s easy and convenient to include Verve V80 into your daily life and take it on the go.

Ingredients

Brace yourself. We’ve got a lot to get through here. Do you know where V80 gets its name from? Its 80-strong list of ingredients. The formula includes essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and other beneficial compounds, all to the tune of 80 individual elements.

It’s hardcore stuff. I’ll try to break it down as well as I can without making you spend all day reading about it.

Let’s start with its stellar vitamin content.

ingredients list of verve v80

Verve V80 contains vitamin A, which is crucial for maintaining healthy vision, immune function, and cell growth. It also supports skin and mucous membranes health. You also get a good hit of vitamin D, which plays a role in maintaining bone health, supporting immune function, bolstering hormone health, and regulating the body’s calcium levels.

Vitamin E comes next, a potent antioxidant. It helps to protect cells from oxidative and free radical damage and is also involved in supporting immune function and cell signalling. Then there is vitamin K, which is necessary for blood clotting and bone health, while vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that supports immune function, collagen synthesis, and iron absorption.

Finally, Verve V80 gives you a fantastic B vitamin complex. This includes vitamins B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B6, B9 (folic acid), B12, B7 (biotin), and B5 (pantothenic acid). These are all vital for various aspects of cellular metabolism, nerve function, DNA and RNA production of DNA, and red blood cell formation.

Moving on to minerals, Verve V80 includes potassium phosphate, an electrolyte crucial for muscle and nerve function, fluid balance, and blood pressure regulation. It includes calcium citrate tetrahydrate, which is key to bone health and maintaining healthy muscle contractions, while magnesium citrate is important for the proper functioning of muscles, nerves, and maintaining a healthy heart rhythm.

Zinc citrate trihydrate supports immune function, cell growth and division, and wound healing. It is also perfect for men, in whom zinc will help to optimise natural testosterone output (one of the most important aspects of men’s health that we can control).

Meanwhile, copper citrate is necessary for red blood cell production and connective tissue formation and maintenance. It also acts as an antioxidant, helping to fight oxidative damage.

Manganese sulphate monohydrate supports bone health, metabolism, and antioxidant defence systems; sodium selenite anhydrous is an essential trace mineral that acts as an antioxidant and is involved in thyroid hormone metabolism; chromium picolinate helps regulate blood sugar levels by enhancing the action of insulin; and potassium iodide is required for the synthesis of thyroid hormones that regulate metabolism and other important body functions…

It goes on. The benefits go on. And on.

Verve V80 also makes incredibly use of antioxidant-rich plant extracts. For example, cinnamon powder extract plays a big role in its makeup. It’s known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and may also help to regulate blood sugar levels and improve heart health.

Meanwhile, aloe vera extract contains antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory effects, supports digestive health, and aids in wound healing.

I particularly value V80’s spirulina use. Spirulina is a nutrient-dense algae, rich in proteins, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It has been linked to various health benefits, including reduced cholesterol levels and better cardiovascular health.

Then there is ashwagandha extract, one of my all-time favourite supplement ingredients. It’s rare that I’m not on it in some form or another, either in a good greens powder like this or a solid testosterone booster.

Ashwagandha is an adaptogenic herb with a long and illustrious history of use in various forms of traditional medicine, including in Ayurveda. It helps the body to cope with stress more ably, and may also have immune-boosting and anti-inflammatory properties.

Turmeric plays a key role, too. It contains curcumin, an active compound with potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. It may also support brain health and alleviate symptoms of arthritis.

Ginger extract plays into this, too – it’s known for its anti-inflammatory and digestive properties, and may help to reduce muscle pain and inflammation.

Green tea extract, rich in antioxidants called catechins, has been associated with improved brain function, fat loss, and reduced risk of certain diseases. Grape seed extract contains powerful antioxidants that may protect against oxidative stress and promote cardiovascular health.

Ginkgo biloba extract has cognitive-enhancing and antioxidant effects, potentially improving memory and cognitive function. Pomegranate extract is rich in antioxidants and polyphenols, reducing the risk of heart disease and improving blood pressure.

Other active ingredients in Verve V80 include:

  • Milk thistle extract, known for its liver-protective properties
  • Rosemary leaf extract, which contains compounds with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, supporting brain health and improving digestion
  • Goji berry and astragalus extract, two antioxidant, adaptogenic ingredients
  • Guarana extract, which contains caffeine and other compounds that boost energy
  • Bilberry, rich in anthocyanins
  • Rieke and Shitake mushrooms
  • Cranberry extract, which is known for its urinary tract health benefits
  • Rosehip extract, with its high levels of vitamin C and antioxidants

There are also a few ingredients in there designed to make the active ingredients all the more effective. Sunflower lecithin, which acts as an emulsifier, can help to improve the mixing and dispersion of ingredients. DigeZyme® is a blend of digestive enzymes that aid in the digestion and absorption of nutrients. Black pepper extract contains piperine, which enhances other ingredients’ bioavailability.

Finally, there are some great microbiome and digestive-boosting ingredients included in V80. You get a good helping of beta-glucans, which are soluble fibres with immune-boosting effects that may help lower cholesterol levels. Then there are probiotic strains bifidobacterium bifidum and lactobacillus rhamnosus, which should contribute to gut health and immune function.

This isn’t everything. There is honestly too much. Even just going for a few select ingredients, this section has got a little unwieldy, a little overwhelming. But I wanted to give you a taste of exactly what you get with Verve V80. A taste of just how profoundly varied, potent, and all-encompassing it is.

It really is pretty incredible stuff.

Using Verve V80

I’ve used greens powders before. I’m well aware of the health benefits on offer from taking them, as well as the convenience they represent… but I always seem to get pretty bloated with them, or at least with most of them. The flavour and texture can also leave something to be desired.

I wasn’t happy, therefore, to learn that I would be reviewing yet another one. I thought that I had weeks of bloat and gagging ahead of me.

Verve V80 tin

Verve V80 quickly disabused me of this notion, however. It mixes well and tastes lovely. I cannot tell you how much of a difference this makes.

It changes it from something you might buy, use a few times, then leave in the back of your cupboard (the back of my cupboard plays host to a few quarter-used packets of various greens powders) into something that you can happily use day after day, indefinitely.

There is very little bloat afterwards, either. Mix with water for best results. I’ve tried mixing with whey for an all-in-one hit before, and this goes horribly wrong. Your stomach will swell up painfully, no matter how good the supplement. Try V80 with water and ice, throw it back, and forget about it.

Then all you have to do is wait for the results to roll on in, which they will do in short order. Improved digestion came first for me. I won’t go into details, but suffice it to say that everything was operating regularly and healthily.

Then comes the mental clarity and sense of invulnerability. I was energetic, clear headed, and stayed fit, healthy, and well, even as everybody else I knew began to drop like flies to seasonal colds (this was November into December I was using this, and playgroups and nurseries were acting like petri dishes, as usual).

It was lovely to live with, beneficial in the extreme, and this was only short term. The long-term benefits promise to be far more profound. I’ve found a bit of a favourite, here.

Verdict

Verve V80 exceeded my expectations in every way. Its comprehensive blend of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and beneficial compounds have had a profound impact on my overall short-term wellbeing. From increased energy levels and enhanced mental clarity to heightened immunity, it’s worked genuine wonders.

And it’s nice to take. I can’t get over this. I hate greens powders. Even the better ones are to be suffered through, not enjoyed… but V80 is actually pleasant.

Who would have thought it? I love it.
