Matcha Flow Review Feature Image

Matcha Flow Review

Looking for the best matcha powder has become my new favourite pastime, so much so that I literally could not wait to write this Matcha Flow review after testing it for a month.

For a while now, I’ve enjoyed the whole ritual experience of waking up and whipping up a matcha, for a calm, focused mindset (mostly – it has other benefits, too).

And I’m certainly not on my own with this – matcha is becoming rapidly popular.

Is it a trend? No – it’s been praised for centuries, as early as The Tang Dynasty (618-907AD). With more clinical data behind it, we’re understanding just how it works for our cognition and wellness.

But not all matcha powders are the same. There are different grades of matcha. Different blends of ingredients, with varying dosages and flavours.

Today, I’m going to share with you what I think is my newfound matcha favourite. Yes, I’ve spoiled you with results first; Matcha Flow is the best in the biz in my opinion, and here’s why.

Quick Verdict: Matcha Flow

Matcha Flow package

Matcha Flow contains the highest amount of ceremonial matcha powder, as well as a sensational collection of quality mushrooms, ingredients, and even a B-Vitamin complex (which many others do not).

The benefits are instant and last up to 6 hours. It is gorgeous to taste, blends beautifully, and you only need one cup a day for results.

Matcha Flow is priced fairly and actually lower than other competitors with less generous dosages. You can save more with a subscription, and they offer a 60-day money back guarantee. Highly recommended.

Matcha Flow Ingredients

First, let’s take a look at what you get in every serving of your Matcha Flow.

Organic Ceremonial Matcha – 2100mg

We’ve got the highest quality of matcha here. Ceremonial matcha has to be produced from only the youngest, softest, and therefore richest part of the leaves. A vibrant green is a tell-tale sign that all the hard, bitter, and lower-quality parts of the leaves like the stems have been removed.

Matcha Flow gives us a whopping 2,100mg here. That’s more than any other powder I’ve tried, including the reputable Matcha Fuel (which has 2,000mg).

2,100 mg of some serious antioxidants, plus that calm energy and mental clarity matcha is renowned for.

Lion’s Mane Mushroom – 800mg

lion's mane mushroom

Lion’s Mane is a shining star in the mushroom family. Brains love it for its ability to help improve our memory, focus, and cognition by stimulating nerve growth. It clears that awful brain fog, plus it’s anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory – all highly beneficial for our wellbeing.

800mg is plenty for efficacy, and on par with the best sellers.

Tremella Mushroom – 1000mg

Tremella mushroom is incredible for your skin health – many people supplement with it alone for its hydration, elasticity, and anti-ageing benefits.

On top of this, Tremella is drenched in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, and offers neuroprotective support too.

Reishi Mushroom – 300mg

We’re treated to a third mushroom in this blend, and it’s the sensational reishi – famous for its healing work on our stress and cortisol levels. This aids our sleep hygiene, while giving us a natural energy boost. All really important for our overall health.

Coconut MCT Oil – 2000mg

In every serving of Matcha Flow we get 2,000mg of coconut MCT oil. Our digestive systems love the stuff, as the system can convert it easily into fuel, fast. It’s great for our cognition too.

Other benefits include a healthier gut, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, and acting as an appetite suppressant for reduced cravings.

KSM-66 Ashwagandha – 200mg

Ashwagandha roots and powder and capsule supplements

Ashwagandha alone is a wonderful adaptogen that helps us restore balance in our hormones and reduce stress. So what’s KSM-66 about it? Well this is a branded form of ashwagandha that uses only the more potent root, so it’s higher quality.

It’s also been clinically studied, and proven to help with anxiety and stress, cognitive function, and even physical and sexual performance (not just for men).

Yellow Maca Root – 250mg

This is excellent for our energy levels and endurance. It’s also another one that’s rather helpful for your libido and function, and is even believed to possibly help with fertility.

Vitamins B5, B6, and B12

Now I must point out that not many matcha powder blends include any kind of vitamins. I recently reviewed Matcha Fuel, and they include none.

Here though, we’re treated to a quality collection of B vitamins that support our overall brain health, including neuroprotection for those crucial nerve and brain cells.

Matcha Flow gives us a full 100% of our recommended daily quantity here. A huge bonus.

Matcha Flow Benefits

So how do all these ingredients look in everyday life?

Matcha Flow Package

✔️ Instant Clean Energy

A lot of us need a mental energy boost, and we need it now. But we need it sensibly, too. A cup of coffee doesn’t achieve this – it gives us peaks and troughs of energy, which equals jitters and crashes.

Matcha does contain caffeine (about half what you’d get in a coffee), but this is naturally balanced with something called L-Theanine, which slows how quickly the caffeine enters your bloodstream. It’s calming, without causing lethargy.

You’re left with a clean, stabilised energy that lasts up to 6 hours, with no crashes or top-up coffees required.

✔️ No Brain Fog, Better Focus

That powerful mushroom blend, B vitamins and the MCT oil work together for sustainable focus, without brain fog. You’ll likely make better decisions even in challenging, stressful situations.

✔️ Reduced Anxiety

Caffeine can cause a lot of anxiety in people. But that L-theanine and other ingredients here calm your energy levels, and this reduces that nervous feeling, and therefore stress too.

✔️ Improved Immunity

If you want a stronger immune system, you need to reduce the oxidative stress in your body. With a whole cup-full of antioxidants and anti-inflammatories here, you’ll find yourself dodging the latest seasonal bug.

✔️ Great Taste

When a matcha tastes good, you’re more likely to drink it consistently. Spoiler: Matcha Flow scored very well here, and it really makes a difference in the longer-term.

How To Take Matcha Flow & When

In its simplest form, Matcha Flow can be enjoyed with just hot (but not boiling) water. All you do is add one scoop (included, and holds 11g) into a cup with 50ml of water and mix; then pour in a further 130ml of hot water (or plant-based milk*) and whisk it up.

*You can use any milk, but they say you should avoid dairy as it can counteract the benefits of the matcha.

You only need one cup at the start of your day. Avoid consuming it after around mid-afternoon, or it may impact your sleep routine.

My Experience With Matcha Flow

Matcha Latte

My experience with Matcha Flow was a very positive one from day one. The first thing I noted was its vibrant colour and fine texture – a clear sign that it’s very high quality.

I thought I’d try it in its simplest form, with water, to evaluate its taste (plus I prefer drinking it this way). I only use a handheld whisk, and it blended beautifully.

But what did it taste like? I’ve tried many matcha powders that have a real bitterness to them. I like the earthy taste of matcha, but a lot of matcha powders can taste awfully bitter, or go too heavy on sweetness to try and mask it.

Matcha Flow gets it just right. It’s not bitter. It’s not sweet either, but the light sweetness lifts those rich qualities and umami notes. I really loved it. In fact, I’d go as far as saying it’s the best-tasting matcha I’ve had.

It tasted gorgeous with milk, too – a luxury treat if you fancy something different now and again. I made mine with almond milk as this works really well with matcha.

Matcha Flow ingredients

I also discovered Ritual+Flow’s recipes on their website, and tried a couple. Give the matcha energy balls a go. They were my favourite, and I loved a couple of the others – plus they’re all easy to make.

In terms of benefits, I felt an almost immediate uptick in my mental clarity. But just as described, it really was a calm energy. It was though all my thought processes had opened wide for easier solutions, faster recall, and less distractions.

And this truly did last for a good six hours, followed by a positive mindset and mood after a productive albeit calm day.

After a couple of weeks this all became routine for me. And my sleep habits improved, too. I didn’t crash and then struggle to sleep like I used to. I was just quietly ticking over at a very productive pace during the day, and could drift off to sleep at a sensible time (which contributed to my overall health and mood improving).

Generally, a highly positive experience. I was so pleased to have found Matcha Flow, and look forward to my everyday ritual with it. There’s nothing I’d want to change about it.

Matcha Flow Price

Matcha Flow is currently priced at £29.95 for a one-time purchase, which works out at £1.46 per serving. That’s cheaper than, say, Matcha Fuel, plus the ceremonial grade matcha is dosed higher.

On top of this, they offer a 15% subscription discount, bringing the price down to £25.46 a month (£1.30 per serving). It’s also made in the UK.

Matcha Flow Precautions

Matcha powders are considered safe with minimal side effects. But of course, we’re all different. Edge yourself in gradually if you’re new to matcha, and seek advice if you have any concerns. You mustn’t exceed daily recommendations, and children and pregnant/breastfeeding women should avoid it.

Always seek professional GP guidance if you have any medical conditions, before starting any new supplement.

My Verdict

I was seriously pleased with Matcha Flow. I predicted it would be good, to be honest, as I know a good matcha blend ingredients list when I see one, and this even beats Matcha Fuel, which I consider to be one of the highest contenders in the functional matcha market.

Matcha Flow has more ceremonial grade matcha in it – the crux of the powder, essentially – but also some intelligently blended and individually fantastic ingredients too, and all generously dosed.

Matcha Flow is also lower in carbs than some other powders I’ve tried. On top of all this, they offer a 60-day money back guarantee. I’ve seen on one of their socials that their return rate is less than 0.5% – and to be honest, I’m not surprised. It tastes amazing, it works, and it’s at a great price too. What’s not to love?
